Going into the Top 16 competition, the Falken Tire Drift Team were ready to go all in, in hopes to be on top of the podium again. Up first for Falken Tire was Tyler McQuarrie in his Nissan 350Z convertible who was paired up with Robbie Nishida. After battling in two great runs, Tyler proved to have an edge over Robbie and advanced to the Great 8. Next up for Falken Tire was Ross Petty and his Garage Boso Nissan Silvia S15 who was up against Michael Essa. With two solid runs from each driver, unfortunately Michael came out on top and knocked out Ross Petty ending his weekend. Finally up for Falken Tire was Vaughn Gittin, Jr. and his Falken Tire 2010 Ford Mustang. Up against Justin Pawlak, Vaughn didn’t lose chase as he stuck right behind Justin. During Vaughn’s lead run, he clipped a wall that resulted in a flat tire and unfortunately ended his weekend as well.
Stay tuned for a complete recap of this weekend’s including Tyler’s competition run in the Great 8.
