The 8th annual HyperFest car show was an awesome spectacle blending motorsports and creative mayhem! Cars ranging from the bizarre and unique to the sophisticated and wicked fast, Hyperfest had a little of everything for everyone. Over 10,000 car-crazed fans of all ages were eligible to participate in events such as tire-rolling, blind-folded golf cart driving, chili-eating, and various stage contests! The two-day event also featured professional circuit racing, drifting, show-n-shine car show, live music, great food, and even a “car roll-over contest”, further strengthening its dubbing as the “Amusement Park of Car Shows”.
Held at the internationally-known Summit Point Raceway in Summit Point, West Virginia, the show marked the return of Falken Tire to the event for the first time since 2003 and was proud to sponsor the Falken Tire U.S. Drift Nationals. Several of the top grassroots drifters from the region displayed their drifting skills vying for the coveted 1st place cash prize as well as a set of fresh Falken tires for the 2nd place finisher. The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) was also on hand to sanction the road-course racing action in several different classes that featured everything from stock-looking Hondas and Nissans to high-dollar Ferraris, Porsches, and BMWs.
The popular Falken Tire Motorsports rig was front and center, next to the main stage for all to see, as hundreds of fans lined up for a chance to get their hands on the free Falken swag being handed out by the motorsports team. Falken model CJ Gibson was on hand signing posters and posing for pictures with the fans, while Vaughn Gittin Jr’s Falken Tire 2010 Ford Mustang was displayed for fans to get an up-close glimpse of the drifting machine. Being the only tire manufacturer on hand for thousands to see definitely marked the show as a success for Falken Tire!
