FALKEN TIRES Takes Second in Nor Cal Rock Racing's Class 4500 at Metalcloak Wild West Shootout in Sparks, Nevada
Mike Bedwell of 4540 Motorsports, driving a Falken Tires-sponsored Class 4500 buggy, took second place in Round 2 of the Nor Cal Rock Racing event in Sparks, NV last weekend. Despite a rollover and tough competition, Bedwell held on to take the number two spot on the podium at the Wild West Motorsports Park just outside Reno.
“I want to thank my team for making this happen,” Bedwell said, “and to Falken Tires for having such a great product.”
“Bedwell ran on the Falken WILDPEAK M/T, which has powered a number of off-road teams to top positions in races throughout the early off-road racing season, and naturally, all of us at Falken Tires are very happy with his performance,” added Brandon Barberena, Falken Tires’ Supervisor, Light Truck and Off-Road Events. “’Mad Mike’ is an awesome competitor and his team is a dedicated participant in the Nor Cal Rock Racing series carrying Falken with them to podium finishes, and we expect that tradition to continue all season long.”
It was a strong turnout of vehicles in the 4500 Class as 16 drivers participated. Bedwell won his first heat and took P3 in Heat 2, which placed him second for the race. When the dust settled, after a red flag, Bedwell hung on to second in his class.
“The track was perfect all day,” Bedwell added. “I also want to thank John Goodby and all the staff and volunteers of Nor Cal Rock Racing. They put on a great event.”
Round 3 of the Nor Cal Rock Racing series will take place June 23rd at the Prairie City SVRA facility in Rancho Cordova (Sacramento) CA.
