FALKEN TIRES Continues Podium Placements at 6th Annual Ultra4 Racing MetalCloak Stampede
Team Falken Drivers score first in 4600 Class and 3rd in 4500 Class
PRAIRIE CITY SVRA, CA – Falken Tires, a leader in high performance tire technology for both on- and off-road vehicles, scored yet another victory this weekend in Ultra4 Racing’s 6th Annual Metalcloak Stampede off-road race in Prairie City when Dawson Allington crossed the finish line first in the 4600 Class.
Additionally, Team Falken veteran Mike Bedwell, overcoming a hard rollover during qualifying, managed to make the main race and scored a 3rd place finish in the 4500 Class to earn Falken Tires’ second podium of the event.
Allington, who qualified third, is racing in his first year for Falken Tires. His Jeep Wrangler TJ ran on 35-inch Falken WILDPEAK M/T's, which kept him in front throughout the intense battles during both preliminaries and the race itself.
“This was a hard-fought race, but I made sure to just stay focused,” declared Allington. “My vehicle and the Falken WILDPEAKs worked through the high speed jumps and adjusted to the rockcrawling sections with ease. It was a great win for all of us.”
Bedwell has performed consistently well throughout the young season. “I’m so proud of my team,” he stated. “After the rollover, they put my Jeep Wrangler TJ back together, and we continued to run strong during the race. My Falken WILDPEAKs were just as competent as the vehicle.” Bedwell took home third in his 4500 Class, running 37-inch WILDPEAK M/T's.
“Nothing gets Mad Mike down,” added Brandon Barberena, Falken Tires’ Supervisor, Light Truck and Off-Road Events, “He just gets back up, dusts himself off, and they put their vehicle back together. Along with our Falken WILDPEAKs, the team never stopped; they just kept pushing, as they always do.
“Falken Tires is also very proud of Dawson’s performance this weekend,” Barberena added. “It’s great to have him as a part of Team Falken, and clearly, his focus was razor sharp behind the wheel. It was another huge victory and Dawson is now third overall in points in his class.”
The ULTRA4 Racing series challenges drivers to compete in a wide variety of terrain from endurance desert racing to competition-style rock crawls to short course racing. The Prairie City SVRA (State Vehicular Recreation Area), near the Sierra Nevada foothills, 20 miles east of Sacramento, CA, is a two-mile short course that features a number of high speed areas sandwiched by manmade rock crawling sections, making the action unpredictable in every area. The top 10 finishers from this weekend’s race are automatically qualified for the 2019 King of the Hammers.
Next on the schedule is the 2nd Annual Eastern/Western combined series event, the Holley EFI Clash at Cross Bar Ranch in Davis, OK, on June 15th. More than 60 drivers are expected to compete and the event also serves as a qualifying race for the 2019 King of the Hammers. For more information, please visit www.ultra4racing.com.
