LAS VEGAS, NV – Team Falken capped the year off strong with podium finishes and championship wins for the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational event at Las Vegas during the week of SEMA. The nerves were high with Team Falken, as this was the final event of the year. In particular, three of the Team Falken drivers competing in the GTS class were all in contention for the first-place overall championship win. The event began at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada, featuring the Road Course and Autocross race segments. With several sessions alternating between the two segments, the event recorded the fastest morning and afternoon runs, as well as the overall fastest run of the day for autocross. Sobey won the Road Course session with a time of 2:25.738. However, both Farka and Hurst kept the competition going with the faster Autocross times of 0:48.732 and 0:49.026, respectively. For the GTT class, Carroll finished in second for the Road Course segment with a 2:32.117 fastest lap time and first in the Autocross segment with a 0:50.435 lap time. Relampagos finished second in class for both segments with a 2:26.107 as his fastest Road Course time and a 0:49.219 Autocross time.

"This event wasn't easy," recalled Lane Farka. "It's been a while since I felt nerves while racing. I was fighting to stay off the bubble and at the top of the pack, knowing how tough it would be to compete with my teammate, Bob Sobey, in Speed Stop."

SEMA hosted the rest of the event in Las Vegas with the Design and Engineering and Speed Stop segments. David Carroll secured the GTT class victory and the overall GTT class championship win with a 2nd place finish in the Design and Engineering segment and a 1st place finish in the Speed Stop segment with a 0:14.236. Nick Relampagos finished 3rd in class for design and 3rd in Speed Stop, solidifying a 2nd place overall win for the GTV class. Over at the GTS class, Farka, Sobey, and Hurst finished in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively, for the Design and Engineering portion; and for the Speed Stop segment, Sobey beat everyone with a 0:12.681. With every segment tallied up, Lane Farka won the event in 1st place overall for the GTS class and took home the overall GTS class championship.

"The team performed phenomenally all year," stated Gerald Alvarado, Falken's Motorsports & Events Supervisor. "They were dominant all season, and we appreciate having them represent Falken Tires for this series. We are proud of their performances, and we look forward to next year."
