Team Falken Earns Podium Finish at the 2026 Mint 400
PRIMM, NV – Team Falken returned to the grueling terrain of the Mint 400 on March 7, 2026, with sponsored driver Michael Scafuto securing a 3rd place podium finish in the AWD Unlimited Truck class. Known as “The Great American Off-Road Race,” the Mint 400 once again delivered some of the toughest racing conditions in off-road competition, testing both machine and driver across the unforgiving Nevada desert.
Piloting the Falken Teal and Blue 4WD Trophy Truck equipped with 40” Falken Wildpeak Race Compound M/T01 tires, Scafuto and his team delivered a strong performance from the outset. After qualifying P6, Scafuto powered off the line with authority, going head-to-head with top competitors and setting the tone early with one of the longest jumps of the weekend.
The 400-mile racecourse featured the Mint 400’s signature mix of high-speed desert sections, rocky terrain, deep silt, and relentless impacts. Despite the punishing conditions and multiple on-course challenges that required additional time in race management and repairs, Team Real Racing remained focused and resilient throughout the event. Their determination and pace ultimately earned them a well-deserved spot on the podium in one of the most competitive classes in off-road racing.

“The Mint 400 always pushes everything to the limit,” said Scafuto. “We had a strong run from the start and stayed competitive all day. Getting back on the podium in a field like this says a lot about our team and the performance of our truck.”
Falken’s Wildpeak Race Compound M/T01 tires once again proved capable of handling the extreme demands of desert racing, delivering the traction, compliance, and durability needed to compete at the highest level across brutal terrain and high-speed sections. The data gathered from events like the Mint 400 continues to support Falken’s ongoing development of performance-driven off-road tire technology.

“Michael and the Team Real Racing crew showed great determination throughout one of the toughest races on the calendar,” said Bakari Howard, Falken Tires’ Motorsports Manager. “A podium finish at the Mint 400 is always hard-earned, and it reflects the strength of the program and the capability of our Wildpeak race tires in extreme conditions.”

Looking ahead, Michael Scafuto and Team Real Racing are set to compete in the full American Off-Road Racing Series, with their next event taking place at the Silver State 300 on April 25, 2026.
