Falken Tires Delivers Standout Performance at Goodguys Pleasanton
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA – Falken Tires continued its strong presence in grassroots motorsports with an impressive showing at the Goodguys Pleasanton event, held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. With ideal weather conditions and a highly competitive field, Falken-supported drivers delivered top-tier performances across multiple classes, reinforcing the capability of the Falken RT660+ in demanding autocross environments.
Leading the charge in Pro Class competition, Nick Relampagos secured a 1st place finish, capping off a highly technical and adaptive weekend behind the wheel.
“Two days of racing at Pleasanton along with great weather made for a fun weekend,” said Relampagos. “Saturday started off extremely slick, so we made significant suspension and tire pressure adjustments. Dropping down to 24 psi front and 20 psi rear made a major difference. The Falken RT660+ responded incredibly well, delivering sharper turn-in and more manageable oversteer. By Sunday, with more rubber on track, we were able to push even harder and secure the win.”
Relampagos also noted the tire’s structural stability at lower pressures, highlighting minimal sidewall rollover despite aggressive setup changes, a key factor in maintaining consistency on the notoriously low-grip Pleasanton surface.

In Truck Class competition, David Carroll delivered a dominant performance, sweeping both the Truck Class and the Shootout, showcasing the versatility of Falken performance tires on heavier platforms.
“We completed nearly 18 runs over the weekend, and the track conditions were extremely greasy and oily,” said Carroll. “We adjusted pressures from our baseline down to as low as 26 psi front and 20 psi rear as conditions evolved. Those changes allowed us to maintain grip and continue improving times despite the surface. The truck performed exceptionally well, even at over 4,400 pounds, and we were able to come away with wins in both classes.”

The event drew strong spectator engagement, with Carroll’s Blazer becoming a fan favorite as he provided ride-alongs throughout the weekend.
“The Pleasanton event is always a unique challenge due to its low-grip surface, and this weekend really highlighted the adaptability of our drivers and the performance of the Falken RT660+,” said Gerald Alvarado, Supervisor of Motorsports at Falken Tires. “Seeing both Nick and David make real-time adjustments and extract winning performance speaks to the confidence drivers have in Falken products under evolving conditions.”
With continued success across classes and vehicle types, Falken Tires remains committed to supporting grassroots motorsports while delivering products engineered for real-world performance.
